Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Fuelog (“Fuelog”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Fuelog iOS application (bundle identifier com.zackschramm.macrolog) and the fuelog.app website (together, the “Service”).

Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly and data generated through your use of the app:

• Account information: your name, email address, and an account identifier used to keep your data tied to your account.
• Nutrition and fitness data you log, including meals, food photos, barcode scans, voice-described meals, recipes, workouts, and body measurements.
• Health and wearable data you choose to sync, such as Apple Health (HealthKit), Apple Watch, Whoop, Oura, Garmin, or Dexcom metrics (HRV, sleep, strain, heart rate, glucose, calories burned). Each integration is connected only with your explicit authorization and can be disconnected at any time.
• Progress photos and InBody body composition scans you upload.
• Content you choose to share in Fuelog’s social features, such as posts, likes, and leaderboard entries.
• Subscription status. Payments are processed entirely by Apple — we never see or store your payment card details. We receive purchase records (e.g., whether your subscription is active) via Apple and our subscription-management provider.

Fuelog does not contain third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

How we use your information

We use collected information to:

• Provide core features like macro tracking, AI food recognition, and workout logging.
• Generate dynamic macro targets and AI-driven coaching insights.
• Sync data across your connected wearables and Apple Health.
• Display content you choose to share with other users in the social feed.
• Manage your subscription and unlock Pro features.
• Maintain, secure, and improve the Service.

AI features

Some features send data to AI service providers for processing: food photos you submit for macro analysis, meal descriptions you type or dictate, and messages you send to the AI coach. Voice input is transcribed on your device by iOS — audio recordings are not sent to our servers. AI requests are processed to provide the feature and are not used to train third-party AI models.

Health data

Health and fitness data (including HealthKit and wearable data) is used solely to power features within the app, such as dynamic targets and recovery tracking. We never sell health data, never share it with third parties for their own purposes, and never use it for advertising. HealthKit data is handled in accordance with Apple’s HealthKit guidelines.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us operate the Service — cloud hosting and database infrastructure, AI processing, and subscription management — under agreements that require them to protect your data and use it only to provide services to us. Content you post to the social feed is visible to other Fuelog users you share it with.

Data retention & deletion

Your data is retained while your account is active. You can disconnect wearable integrations, delete individual logs and progress photos, or delete your account at any time from within the app. Deleting your account removes your personal data from our production systems. To request full deletion of your data, you can also contact us at support@fuelog.app.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. Contact us at support@fuelog.app and we will honor applicable requests.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised date.
